Fishing for meaning in a Sea of Stars.

Celtic and Babylonian civilizations revered the intersection of heaven and earth, leaving us Stonehenge and the hours, minutes, and seconds of our lives. Aztec priests recorded the shifting intersections of stars and planets on the horizon, discovering cycles they could predict. The moon and sun established the ebb and flow of life in Egypt, while Mars guided Roman’s on their voyages of conquest.

Building on such  legacies, Greek philosophers described the founding of the universe as the act of setting two circles in perfect endless motion. Two circles describing the endless spiral of the sun's movement in the sky painted on the horizon by each sunset and sunrise.  The circle of the different and the circle of the same offer a glimpse into the minds of our ancestors as they looked to the horizon. Where reason first pulled meaning from mystery, as the tides of time gently lapped against the shores of earth.
