“Water Marks-OUTSIDE”
An Outdoor Water Exhibition/Installation Project

Applications must be received by email or snail mail by May 15, 2003.
A summer garden tour was inspirational in creating the concept for this
unique exhibition of outdoor floating constructions which will be sited
in Mount Desert Island’s ponds, lakes and shore front for one week
during the symposium, and will be publicly viewed from roadways, or by
boat. A map locating these floating installations will be available at
stores, information centers and other public places throughout the Island,
as well as having extensive publicity.
There is no entry fee for and anyone wishing to create a floating "Water
Marks" construction should go to www.mdi-landescapes.com and get
more information, download a manual and application form. Everyone is
encouraged to apply; artists, schools, special interest groups, boat builders
and any other enthusiastic group or individual. An art background is not
necessary to enter this competition. All constructions must be water and
float-ready and tested before they can be installed on Friday July 25.
